Hi Folks, the italians are always able to distinguish. While an australian earns 10.000 euro for winning a gold medal, an italian athlete will get as much as 140.000 euro. Like all the italian they are crying for taxes, asking to the national olympic committee to keep this prizes out of taxation.

Mr Petrucci, wich is the manager of italian athletic team, is another politician with a long life. His idea, really a great one, is to double up the prize money in order to give a prize equal to the old one without taxes.

They obviously have no idea of what shame is, in a period when our economy is in deep shit.

But talking about the olympic shames make me think about the biggest olympic shame.

A couple of years ago italy was organizing the olimpic winter games.

You got to know that here a law can be approved with parliament votation or, in case of exceptional reasons, with a decision of the government that has then to be voted and accepted from the parliament within 60 days.

Our constitution was made like that for emergency reasons, such as a tsunami or something really exceptional.

Before the olimpic winter games, the berlusconi government had to regulate the organization of public order during the games and settle the financial aspects with a normal law.

So they made a decreto legge (that expceptional way of making laws) to regulate that but they mixed togheter also other matters, including the drugs regulations, marijuana prohibition and so on.

The reason was that they had not enough votes to change as they wanted (a very strict law that consider at the same way heroin and hashish) the drug rules. So they prepared a package that could not be divided.

For 60 days it was law as a result of emergency regulation, then a votation was needed to establish it as a existing law.

The votation was made in a special way, the government can decide that a votation (of any kind) can decide at the same time if the goverment has to continue or not to manage the country.

It is an instrument that is used when the government doesnt want to risk that the law is not approved, and put on the pot the entire stack.

Or you vote for it or we all go home.

IN that case was, or you accept the criminalizing marijuana law or the winter olimpic games will not be able to happen and the government will collapse.

Also the money needed to organize this games where conditioned under the approval of this law.

Its a funny game the italian way of regulating the people’s life. isnt it?

By the way, in this country a child sexual abuse is punished much less then marijuana possession.

The olimpo of the bullshit people, that where we are living in.

This post id dedicated to the memory of Aldo Bianzino, who was killed by this law at 40 years old. His family never saw him alive anymore after beeing arrested for possession of 3 marijuana plants in his country house in umbria. One day of jail was enough to die with all the internal organs of the body destroyed by somebody’s violence.

His family is still waiting for justice
